The very first threadlocker application was...a carburetor screw!

Loctite® Breaks the Land Speed Record.
In 1983, Loctite® sponsored Richard Noble in the "Thrust 2" as he broke the World Land Speed Record at 633 MPH.

Loctite® in Formula One.
There are over 80 applications of Loctite® on the Formula One race cars.

Loctite® at the Indy 500.
For the past 30 years, The United States Automobile Club (USAC), the sanctioning body of the Indianapolis 500, has specified the use of Loctite® products on every car taking part in the Indy 500 race.

In the early years of auto racing, the Indy 500 had scheduled race stoppages to sweep up the screws and bolts that fell out of the cars. Loctite® eliminated those issues and enabled the faster cars we see today.

Loctite® on BattleBots.
Loctite® anaerobics can be found in the harshest environments; even locked inside a cage with robots pummeling each other into submission! The teams competing in the widely popular BattleBots TV series were busy trying to avoid spinning saw blades, hammers and large metal spikes. Given these obstacles, mechanical failure was the last thing these teams wanted to deal with! That's why most teams used Loctite® Threadlockers and sealants to prevent failures and shutdowns. Loctite® even sponsored season one winner, Vlad the Impaler!

Loctite® for Hobbies.
Many hobbyists use Loctite® Tthreadlockers to keep their equipment from failing. Snowboarders, skiers and hikers all use Loctite® on their bindings to prevent them from coming loose and causing injuries. RC enthusiasts use it on model cars, planes and helicopters. Even hardcore paintball fans know that Loctite® Threadlockers are an essential component of their arsenal.

Loctite® In FSAE India.
Loctite® is sponsoring Formula SAE for Delhi College of Engineering India. This is a student-based engineering design competition run by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), with a history of 25 years.

Loctite® In FSAE Korea.
Loctite® is the Official Sponsor for FSAE competition held by Youngnam University, which is the biggest self-made vehicle competition in Korea.

Since 2006, Loctite® along with Pattex products have supplied proof of Dakar Rally competitors' capability to win. Loctite® anaerobic threadlockers are a good example for those small yet very important items that can make the difference between victory and defeat, as they perform reliably where mechanical devices fail.
